edward mitterrand and stephanie cramer will be presenting 'industry' a new installation by designers job smeets and nynke tynagel of studio job. the exhibition is the first in a 6 part series of exhibits dedicated to contemporary limited design. the show will feature seven new works, five of which are marquetry objects: a cabinet, a screen, a dressoir, a table and a pedestal all inlayed with white dyed bird's eye maple and black dyed tulip tree veneer.
the patterns depict objects and symbolism representative of modern capitalism in a rorschach like arrangement. helicopters, nuclear
power plants, high voltage pylons, guns, bullets, hunting knives and a series of animals are only some of the images depicted."
